Linda Lorton Spier

Linda received a BA degree from Depaw University in 1962 and maintains her studio at 1320 Donnybrook Drive, Carmel, IN 46032, (317-846-3286). Recent juried exhibitions 2016-2017, include Will Vawter Invitational, Greenfield, IN, Wabash Valley at Swope Gallery, Terre Haute, IN, Hoosier Salon, and Richmond, IN, Art Museum Annual. Past competitive shows from the 1970’s through 2000 include Anderson Winter Show, American States Insurance, Lafayette Museum of Art, Hoosier Salon 1970’s, 1990’s, 2010, 2011, 2015 & 2016. Also, nine Contemporary Women Printmakers of Indiana in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2016.

One woman shows in Indianapolis include Merchants Plaza, Jefferson Life Gallery, Central Library, Indiana Repertory Theater, Indiana National Bank lobby, GTE on the Circle, local libraries, and Audubon Center in Santa Fe, NM. Her new work celebrates western landscape and skyscape and ancient Euro-Asian cave walls. The woodcut reduction prints feature environmentally threatened birds. She printed in Santa Fe, NM, at Interbang Press, Dos Lobos, and Hand Graphics for twenty years using stone lithography, woodcut, and chine colle on relief monoprints.

Her work is in Depaw University’s Olin Hall Biology Building, and the public library in Del Rio TX. In Indiana, libraries in Carmel, Noblesville and Fishers, plus the Sycamore Land Trust Nature Preserve in Bloomington. In Carmel, her work can be found at the Hoosier Salon Gallery, and The Great Frame Up. Also, the Depot Glass Museum in Arcadia, the Beechler City State Bank, IL, and Pieces Gallery, 1024 Paseo del Pueblo Sur in Taos, NM.
