Kay Bae
KayBae Art is a midwest-based creative studio that explores organic, deeply textured, and delicate beauty while drawing inspiration from Eastern and Western cultures. Kay’s creativity is fueled by the beauty of lines, shapes, colors, and space in both the natural and manmade world. Most of her work can be characterized by its linear rhythm, dynamic movement, and use of varied materials that, along with vibrant colors, create bold compositions. Because of wide-ranging interests, Kay’s work explores a number of mediums including acrylic, oil, watercolor, silk painting, mixed media collage, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, sewing, crochet, and felting.
Kay has always been interested in art, but has only recently begun to explore the possibilities of making art. Simply put, she loves to learn, create, and explore. Curiosity about various genres has offered continual inspiration to her multi-faceted approach of creation. The trial and error practice with passion might be one of the most proud parts of Kay’s art journey.
Kay loves to visit galleries, museums, art fairs, and art shops. Long before she began to make art, she happened to drop by NPA and loved the casual and friendly setting and atmosphere. Recently, Kay has begun to feel more connected and supported by NPA, which helps her be more confident about what she is creating as an artist.
Kay enjoys various kinds of art and has a passion for creating and learning new things. She is hoping that she will become more active part of community as an artist and artisan. Her work can be see on her website: kaybaeart.com
