This is an online, fundamental class of exploration across 6 sessions. $50 per session or $300 for the full course. Each session is 2 hours long via Zoom meeting. Meeting links will be sent to students upon registration. Excellent for all painters and visual artists of all levels!
The course will touch upon the many facets of painting. It is designed to mimic a mini atelier that a student would be enrolled in while attending art school. Student will build skills, learn techniques, and see the bigger picture of developing a practice for a lifetime journey in painting.
Instructor Beth Forst is an experienced artist with 30 years experience as an artist/entrepreneur working with galleries,
as a docent and intern in museums, as a plein air painter, and as both a teacher and traveller. Her vision in this class is to help you explore the basics to inspire your authenticity and find a satisfying journey into your own creativity.
6 class sessions will be themed :
1. Drawing/ Design
2. Values
3. Color
4 & 5. Principles/ Elements of Art
6. Your Journey in Spotlight
Supply List (supplied by the student):
- Palette knife of a medium size (diamond shaped)
- Brushes (#4 filbert, #8 filbert)
- Four 8x10 canvases
- Drawing pencil
- Eraser
- Drawing paper
- EITHER Oil paints or Acrylic paints (whichever you are most comfortable with. Notes below.)
For Oil Paints: Winton is a good brand. Suggested colors include Lemon Yellow Hue, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Titanium White.
For Acrylic Paints: Golden or Liquitex brands are good. Suggested colors include lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, alizarin crimson, cadmium red, French ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, titanium white.
