Each month, Nickel Plate Arts presents a showcase of artwork by a local artist or art group inside our Stephenson House Gallery. The exhibit is open to the public during regular business hours, Wednesday - Friday from Noon - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. For the month of May, we are excited to display a collection of artwork from local artist Richard Parker. Richard Parker is a native of Indiana who has spent his professional life utilizing his talents, skills, and experience as a painter, illustrator, graphic designer, art director, writer, photographer, film maker and creative director to create thousands of creative and artistic projects. He has won over 1,500 national and international awards of creative excellence for a large and diverse list of private individuals, corporations, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations. Those clients include DuPont, Ford, General Motors, Westinghouse, BASF, Novartis, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft Foods, Mellon Bank, Trojan Yachts, Boeing, Kubota, Dow Jones, Cummins, Lilly, Curtis Paper, Marriott Hotels, and many other notable clients. Art aficionados will enjoy perusing Richard's art while sampling refreshments, drinks, live music, and more during May’s First Friday celebration on May 3 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Local arts patrons should mark their calendars for Parker's reception During First Friday. After First Friday, the exhibit will be open to the public during our normal gallery hours.
