Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation (CCPR) will hold its annual Barrier-Free Theater performance in honor of Developmental Disability Awareness Month. This year’s performance, titled World Gone Rocked, will be held in person at the Monon Community Center March 12 at 6 p.m. and March 13 at 2 p.m.  An ASL interpreter will be provided for the Saturday showing.

Barrier-Free Theater is a form of drama therapy that empowers individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to create and perform original stories together. The entire creative process takes around eight months to complete.

World Gone Rocked recaps the emotions and shared experiences many of us have endured over the past two years. The production explores ways in which we cope and rely on one another to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Pre-registration is required to attend the show. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase online now through March 10. Attendees will be seated with their own party, physically distanced from other parties within the auditorium. Masks are optional.
