June 2018: Science Art Fair, Deadline May 18

It’s a beautiful thing when science and art collide! This June, we’re hosting an exhibit that does exactly that in partnership with The DaVinci Pursuit, a non-profit organization that exists to “connect art, science, and community.” Our “Science Art Fair” will entertain artists, art patrons, and lovers of science alike. We’ll be featuring a selection of works from The DaVinci Pursuit’s projects as well as similar work from artists/makers in the Nickel Plate Region. Our June First Friday reception will allow guests to speak to some of the featured artists in this exhibit to learn more about their inspiration and approach to creating.

Do you have artwork that incorporates an element of science? Do you create work from a scientific process with an artistic influence? We’d love to hear more! To submit your work for this exhibit, fill out the submission form on the right. For large image files, please email Rachael O’Dell directly via rodell@nickelplatearts.org. Deadline to submit is Friday, May 18th.

Because hanging space in our gallery is limited, we encourage artists submitting 2D artwork to submit pieces no larger than 36″ x 36″. All 2D pieces should be wired for hanging. Meyer Najem Gallery

The Meyer-Najem Corp. headquarters in Fishers’ Nickel Plate District hosts quarterly exhibits featuring contemporary art with a modern or abstract feel.

The gallery does well with large 2-D hanging works and a collection of small works, or about 40 smaller pieces. The space can be shared with another artist. Works will be available for purchase. Exhibiting artists enjoy an opening reception at Meyer-Najem.

The spacious open-concept gallery space is open to the public. Its gray and white walls offer neutral backgrounds to contrast artwork. A hallway branches off the gallery with multiple spotlights to showcase more art. High ceilings and exposed ductwork round out the contemporary space.

To be considered for this opportunity, contact Rachael O’Dell at rodell@nickelplatearts.org.

Please email large image files to rodell@nickelplatearts.org to submit your work to an upcoming NPArts gallery show.
