Logan Street Sanctuary
Every Second Saturday of the month at 8pm, we welcome diverse entertainers to the LSS stage! For August's showcase, we welcome RJ Comer!
After his official showcase at SXSW 2018, bluesy Americana artist RJ Comer (RJ Comer Music) launched a gulf coast tour and released his new album One Last Kiss ~ which has garnered critical acclaim and is getting air play throughout the U.S., U.K., and Europe. He is currently touring the Up-South and Midwest.
Born in Chicago and now living in the Tennessee woods, RJ has toured in Canada and throughout the U.S., garnering fans from farm towns to Bourbon Street, in taverns, coffee houses and concert halls. In addition to SXSW, RJ has appeared at the Canadian Music Week Festival, the Key Largo Original Music Festival, and the Baton Rouge Third Street Songwriters Festival to name a few.
His 2016 release Nightly Suicide EP got spins throughout the countrys Americana stations, and Tampas WMNF 88.5 named it one of the best albums of 2016. In 2015 RJ released a two-sided single New Orleans Undercover, which debuted at #2 on iTunes New Blues Releases Chart. New Orleans Undercover was recorded in New Orleans with New Orleans musicians. His debut solo EP Hell Hole Swamp (March 2015) included tracks produced in Lafayette, Louisiana by True Blood and Treme contributor C.C. Adcock and featuring the legendary Stanton Moore on drums and Artelius Mystic on sousaphone.
This guy has a great raw country voice. His songs have some dirt and grit on them raw beauty.
Ron Wray, No Depression
conversational and poetic, deftly straddling traditional and contemporary Americana and Blues.

[RJ Comer] should be a Major Star in the Americana world if there is any justice.
