Nickel Plate Arts campus
Each month, Nickel Plate Arts presents a showcase of artwork by a local artist or art group inside our Stephenson House Gallery. The exhibit is open to the public during regular business hours, Wednesday - Friday from noon - 5pm and Saturday from 10am - 5pm. For our first Artist Showcase of 2019, Nickel Plate Arts will host “My White River,” an exhibit featuring a selection of art inspired by our local waterway. The White River cuts through much of Hamilton County and can be credited with bringing development in a variety of forms to this portion of Indiana. It’s only fitting that we recognize the cultural importance of the river, and we have an exhibit planned to do just that. Happening in partnership with Hamilton County Tourism and Indiana Humanities, “My White River” will engage viewers through a variety of artwork, activities, and a special screening of films exploring all that the river has to offer. Plan to attend the Next Indiana Campfires Films Launch Party (free, registration required) on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6-8pm to view three river-themed films made by local filmmakers, participate in a Q & A with the directors, and enjoy free hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Come and explore how art, nature, and community intersect in this exciting project!
