Leslie Hudson (photo by Karl Stahl) is a powerhouse performer and prolific songwriter bringing rock, jazz, metal, blues, folk, filk and funk to conventions and venues across Canada and the USA. The body of her work illustrates the mosaic of the feminine spirit across culture, history and myth, digging into the dirt, traversing the shadows and bringing the truth to light. Theres a Goddess Revolution going on and this rebel redhead is voicing the stories of characters who continue to inspire it, from archetypes to Inhumans, without apology. Hudsons influences glide from Tori Amos to Loreena McKennitt, Metallica to Simon & Garfunkel, woven into her voice and her fingers on the keys. Armed with a synesthetic palette, she invites her listeners to see through the eyes of heroines, villains, lovers and liars alike, as she breathes new life into stories less often told.
In 2017 Hudson embarks on a six-month North American tour with stops in more than 25 states and provinces. On tour as at home her performances range from solo shows to singer-songwriter showcases to 10-piece band showstoppers. Collaborating with musicians and producers around the world, her recent albums are rooted in the diversity of sci fi, pop culture, folklore, myth, and the lessons life brings.
Hudson seeks to get under the skin of [her] characters, probe their fictitious souls and, through the raw power of her music, to make them flesh-and-blood, to honor them with real human angst. And the results are nothing short of spectacular. Daniel Jun Kim, Pop Mythology
Hamilton Blues Lovers called The Redhead League an impressive, multi-genre project melding fantasy themes with top notch musical storytelling Sci-Fi/comic book fans will definitely appreciate the storytelling but even if thats not your thing, everyone can appreciate the lyrical know-how and explosive music.
Leslie Hudson is a force of nature. Deborah Baudoin, The Harmony Heifers
Logan Street Sanctuary (LSS) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) not-for-profit cultural arts organization. At our concerts, 100% of the donations at the door (suggested $12/2 for $20) always goes directly to the performers. We provide light refreshments for the audience and performers, and we accept cash donations in a glass bowl to support our facility (if you BYOB, please donate into our glass LSS bowl ~ like a "cork fee"). LSS makes no money at the concerts except our LSS donation bowl on our refreshments table and any purchases you make (The Polk Street Review book, artwork, t-shirts, raffle tickets). We often have an art raffle at our concerts. Raffle tickets are $5 each, and 100% of raffle ticket sales goes directly to support LSS. We offer t-shirts, 2017 The Polk Street Review books, and annual supporting memberships and donation options (via our secure Square Market store). Without your support, we couldn't host such great performers on the LSS stage! Thank you ~ and see you at the shows!
