Understanding realism and how it relates to painting will strengthen your work, whether you paint still life, landscapes, portraits, or abstracts. How light falls across objects creating atmosphere in two dimensions will be the focus of this two day class. We’ll discuss the importance of a strong value structure, when to edit details out, and when to emphasize them. The goal of this class is to develop a higher level of visual perception and understanding, which will translate to greater visual strength in your paintings.
